  • Koji Murakami - Head Instructor
  • Koji Murakami is a brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Julio "Foca" fernandez of Carlson Gracie team and is head instructor at Montreal Revolution Team.
  • Having a judo background, Koji began training at Julio's school in Vermont in 1994. He has competed in several tournaments including the prestigious Pan American Championships in 2002.
  • After moving to Montreal in 1998, Koji opened the academy and has been training high level athletes ever since.
  • For Koji, jiu-jitsu is not just a sport, it is a life style that provides the opportunity to gain personal achievement through dedication and hard work.
  • Nobuya Shimamoto - Instructor
  • Nobuya Shimamoto is a brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Koji Murakami.
  • He started practicing jiu-jitsu in 2001 after having been an avid athlete and Martial Artist with an extensive background in Karate, Judo and Boxing.
  • Nobuya is an avid competitor and has amassed numerous medals throughout his years of competition. He has won his division in N.A.G.A. (2003), Showdown Open (2002) and was the 2009 (advanced divistion) finalist in the prestigious Abu Dhabi Pro Canadian Qualifier.
  • As a teacher, Nobuya upholds his Samurai ancestral roots by providing dedicated, detailed instruction, combined with rigorous drilling and sparring. His classes are taught in a respectful environment and he prides himself in giving students the individual attention they require.
  • Deepu Jugessur - Instructor
  • Deepu is a brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Koji Murakami and has been practicing jiu-jitsu for 13 years. His personable nature and strong teaching skills put students at ease and make for a great learnig atmosphere.
  • As one of our most senior students/instructors, Deepu's teaching has been key in the development of our students past and present.
  • Jimmy Tat - Instructor
  • Jimmy Tat is a black belt under Koji Murakami and has been practicing jiu-jitsu for over 9 years. He is an accomplished competitor and has represented Montreal Revolution Team in many tournaments including the World Championships, the World Abu Dhabi Pro Trials and the American Nationals. He is an Ontario Open champion and recently defeated a World Champion in the super fight at Montreal Grappling Experience.
  • Jimmy is responsible for the Competition Team's training and has also fought in amateur and professionnal MMA bouts. He is a motivated trainer and is always willing to help out his teammates to perform at their highest level possible.
